Remember that rumor about Cal/OSHA raiding Jake Cruise’s Los Angeles bareback gay porn studio earlier this year? Turns out it was true, and it turns out the workplace safety agency has fined Jake Cruise over $11,000 for not using condoms and violating multiple state laws:

California’s Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA), has issued workplace safety violations and fines totaling $11,360 against adult film production company Jake Cruise Media for its productions of condom-less, or ‘bareback’ adult films. Cal/OSHA issued three citations and fines: 1) for not having an Exposure Control Plan (serious citation)—fine: $5,400; 2) for not observing universal precautions (e.g. using condoms in filming—serious citation)—fine $5,400; and 3) for not having an Injury and Illness Prevention Program in place (general citation)—fine $560.

Whether you support bareback porn or not, the law’s the law, and Jake Cruise knew he was violating it by producing condomless scenes in California for JakeCruise.com and CocksureMen.com. Is it fair that Cruise gets fined while other studios get away with movies like Viral Loads? Probably not, but Cruise knew the risks he was taking. And, it probably didn’t help when alleged pedophile Mike Dozer tweeted that now infamous photo of himself wearing a “condoms are for pussies” t-shirt from a Jake Cruise set just a few months before the Cal/OSHA raid. Not exactly subtle.

shame

Here’s the Cal/OSHA report (Jake Cruise’s business name is Erka Group, Inc.) released today. Note that the initial inspection was way back in March, which explains why Cruise stopped filming and has been releasing 3rd party (and 3rd rate) bareback content from Europe for the past several months.

Cruise responded to news of the fines today (which AHF put out in a press release, of course) with some news of his own: He’s no longer shooting in California. If the most recent update posted to his site is the best he can do outside of California, you have to wonder, why bother continuing to shoot in any state at all?aids
