Gay porn studio Sean Cody is going through some more dramatic changes, as the studio has just confirmed that they’ll no longer introduce weekly solo models. For the last two Mondays (the day new solos are normally released), there have been no new scenes introducing solo models, and a Sean Cody rep tells Str8UpGayPorn that they will now only introduce new models “intermittently,” with no set schedule. The rep explained:

The Monday solos will be intermittent moving forward. Effectively, instead of getting models to do solos every week, we are going to only feature solo models on Mondays if he is a quality model and will come back to do a sex scene. The intention for this means that we will be able to focus on recruiting quality talent. Also, it is kind of nice to be able to guarantee that if you see a solo, you will definitely see a sex scene featuring that actor.

Regular sex scenes will still be out every Thursday and Saturday, and the rep went on to say that there will in fact be two solo models introduced this month, but there are no exact dates set for the release of those two scenes. So, it’ll be something of a “surprise” when (if?) we do see new soloists in the weeks and months ahead.

New solo models have been a staple of Sean Cody since it launched in 2001, and their ability to cast the best brand new guys (who no one had seen before) was a big part of what defined the studio. It’s been clear over the last few years, however, that the studio no longer has that same casting ability, and most new solo models have paled in comparison to the ones introduced prior to 2017. Remember Jeremy, from 2016? We never got to see him fuck, but we got to see him show off his incomparable ass, and I wouldn’t trade that for anything:

It was always fun to wonder whether or not a soloist would return to fuck, and Sean Cody had some of the best soloists in the history of gay porn. Even if a soloist didn’t return, I’d rather see a hot guy jerk off once and never see him again than never see him at all. Remember Tommy, from 2013? Like some of the hottest men in the history of the studio, he never came back, but seeing him just one time was definitely worth it:

By only hiring soloists who are “guaranteed” to return, Sean Cody’s casting will be extremely limited now, so let’s hope they make the most of the new plans and the new recruitment strategy.
