Exclusive: Sean Cody’s Tanner On Barebacking, His Sexuality, And Making You “Cum Uncontrollably”

Str8UpGayPorn: Hi Tanner! I guess to start, I’ll ask you about one of the big “controversial” topics: Sexuality. Do you identify as gay, bi, straight, or something else?
Sean Cody’s Tanner: I personally don’t identify with any sexual orientation. I believe sexuality is too complex, with many variances and in-betweens.
For some reason, I knew you were going to say that! But, do you think working in gay porn had any effect on your sexuality at all?
Yes. When I started I considered myself straight and now I consider myself always open to new things.
And do you have a boyfriend or girlfriend now?
No comment.
OK, moving on. Working in gay porn, do you think it’s easier to be straight or gay? Why?
Porn is work. LOL. I think it’s just as hard for both.
On Sean Cody, you became extremely popular in a quick amount of time. Do you pay attention to all the social media mentions and blog comments?
I actually haven’t gotten any feed back until I created a Twitter. My fans motivate me to continue and make better films.
I remember when you first tweeted me, and I actually didn’t think it was really “you” at first. Sean Cody models typically don’t have Twitter accounts, but you’re still working with them?
I’m still working with Sean Cody.
Great! I’m glad you didn’t get in trouble 🙂 Who has been your favorite guy to work with so far?
It’s hard to name just one. I always have a great time with all of the guys I work with, but if I had to name a few, I’d say Stu, David, and Cameron were the ones I had the most fun with.
I’ll never forget all of your and David’s cum shots. What about that insane Mountain Getaway bareback orgy scene last year?
I had never done anything like that before.
It’s one of the best things Sean Cody has ever done. Did you know when you were filming it how good it was going to be?
When I was invited I was very excited. I knew it was going to be a lot of fun, but I had no idea it was going to be such an important set of films.
In Mountain Getaway, you worked with high school student Noel. What did you make of all the controversy surrounding him?
I know Noel personally, and it is such a shame that they attacked him like that. He really is a nice guy, and he wasn’t doing anything wrong.
Has anyone ever reacted negatively upon learning about what you do?
Yeah, and I guess a lot of people in the adult film industry get shamed for what they do. I personally went through a similar experience as Noel, and was kicked out of a few social groups after people found out. I don’t mind though. The friends I have now are good, quality friends.
Do you talk to your Sean Cody co-stars off set?
Yeah, I like to hang out with the guys when we aren’t filming. We keep in touch, and I often ask Stu for lifting advice!
Sean Cody has been producing bareback content for a couple years now, and other studios followed their lead when they made that shift back in 2012. Was working without condoms ever a concern for you, or was it not really a big deal?
I have seen the lengths they go to in order to make it safe for the models, and that makes me very comfortable performing bareback.
As a young guy, I’m curious what your thoughts in general are on condoms and safe sex. Do you use them in your personal life?
I always use protection when I have sex with someone I don’t know really well. If I am with someone for a while whom I trust, I don’t use one—assuming they are clean.
Have you ever encountered fans or people who recognize you in real life?
No one has ever came up and said, “Hi Tanner!” but I have good intuition, and I have an idea when someone starts talking to me after recognizing me. It’s happened a couple times.
And what do you do when you’re not shooting scenes?
I’m a full time student studying industrial engineering, and I’m interested in investing in real estate. I’m very outdoorsy, too. I love going going kayaking, spearfishing, setting up a slip and slide, or literally anything outside.
As a performer, you’ve been both a top and a bottom. Which do you prefer?
Honestly, it depends on my mood. Sometimes I’m feeling dominant and I just want to pound someone out, while other times I’ll want nothing else but to make the other guy cum uncontrollably.
