VOTE: Who Is Your Favorite Gay Porn Star of 2017?
It’s that time again! As 2017 comes to a close, Str8UpGayPorn is proud to roll out its annual list of favorite gay porn stars, and this year, we’re doing things just a little bit differently, with readers playing an even bigger part in determining the year’s best.
Since 2013, the annual “Str8ies” has given Str8Up readers the chance to vote on their favorite gay porn star of the year, from a list of 10 different nominees every year, all of whom were chosen by Str8UpGayPorn. This year though, it’ll be the readers alone who decide 9 of the 10 nominees, and it’ll be the readers alone who’ll vote to name the two Best Gay Porn Star winners. That’s right: This year, instead of having just one Best Gay Porn Star, there will be TWO Best Gay Porn Star winners!
Unlike past years, nominees from previous years CAN be nominated again this year, so feel free to nominate anyone who has been nominated before, if they were in at least five scenes in 2017. Also, any nominee or winner at the first annual Str8UpGayPorn Awards ceremony (a separate awards show different from this annual year-end readers’ poll) held in June in New York City is also eligible here. The only performers who can not be nominated again for this poll are those who have won this annual readers’ poll previously, including: Conner Kline in 2013, Colby Keller in 2014, Diego Sans in 2015, and Carter Dane in 2016.
So, how do you announce your nominee for 2017’s Best Gay Porn Star? It’s simple, but you must follow these two steps, and these two steps alone:
1. Name your favorite gay porn star in the comments below! Just type his first and last name.
2. Cite any one of the FIVE scenes that your favorite gay porn star nominee appeared in this year. You don’t have to list your favorite or best scene, but your nominee must have performed in at least FIVE released in 2017. If your nominee did not perform in at least five sex scenes released in 2017, your comment will be deleted and your nomination will be discarded. To identify a scene, simply type the studio name and your nominee’s co-star(s) in parentheses next to his name.
For example, if I wanted to nominate Diego Sans (remember though, as a previous winner here, he’s not eligible), this is exactly what my comment would look like:
Diego Sans (Men.com, co-starring Paddy O’Brian)
In your comment, be sure to ONLY list the name of your favorite gay porn star and one of his scenes, and don’t write any other commentary or message, please. (This is to save time and make this as efficient a process as possible—you can comment normally as much as you’d like once the final nominees list is announced next week.) Any comment with anything other than one gay porn star’s name and a scene citation will be discarded, not counted, and deleted. And, you can only leave one comment below. Multiple comments from the same user will be deleted.
Please note that Str8UpGayPorn reserves the right to delete and not count the names of certain performers who are ineligible or not deemed fit to be nominees. If your nomination comment is deleted, you’re welcome to email me ([email protected]) to inquire why it was deleted. Comments about deleted comments or ineligible nominees will be deleted and not discussed here. Str8UpGayPorn also reserves the right to delete comments from commenters believed to be fake, disingenuous, or seeking to disrupt the nomination process.
Once the comment section below reaches 300 comments, the comments will be closed and names will start to be counted. If the comments don’t reach 300 by Sunday, 12/10 at midnight, the 9 most mentioned names from however many comments are here will be counted. The top 9 names with the most mentions based on the 300 individual comments below will make up the list of 10 final nominees. The 10th nominee will be chosen by Str8UpGayPorn (I have several favorites in mind, and will make my final decision on the 10th nominee once your comments have determined the other 9).
(Note: If there is somehow a tie resulting in more than 10 nominees, Str8UpGayPorn reserves the right to determine final nominees based on the chronological order of the time nominee comments were placed.)
After the comments are closed on Sunday at midnight, the final 10 nominees will be presented next week, and then the voting will commence! And remember, the top two vote-getters in the final poll will be named 2017’s Best Gay Porn Stars, and they’ll be announced after voting ends on December 28th!
REMEMBER: If you see that someone else has already left a comment naming your favorite gay porn star, that’s OK! You can and should name him again in your own comment to ensure that your favorite receives the most mentions and secures a place on the final nominees list.
