Sean Cody’s Brysen Announces Retirement: “I Have Stepped Away From The Porn Industry To Seek Other Employment Opportunities”
Brysen—one of Sean Cody’s best gay porn stars since his debut in late 2016—is retiring from gay porn, and he made the announcement in an Instagram post this week (screenshot above), telling fans that he’s “stepping away from porn to seek other employment opportunities.”
As reported earlier this summer, Brysen has become an Andrew Christian underwear model, and now he’s making live appearances at nightclubs as a “host,” as he mentions below. In my view, being the top Sean Cody porn star is a much better and much more prestigious role than being an Andrew Christian model who appears at West Hollywood bars, but Brysen obviously has to do what feels best for him, and he undoubtedly has plans to move onto other projects in the months and years ahead. Here’s the relevant text of Brysen’s retirement announcement, via Instagram:
Friends, family, fans of my past work, I am super excited to be hosting my first event in my new home town of LA. I can’t even begin to tell you how thankful I am for all the amazing people I’ve met here thus far, that have helped me feel at home…if your just getting off work and need to relieve a little stress come stop by and bring some friends for a good time at “Touch Thursdays” at [the Abbey] … look forward to meeting some new faces, don’t be shy to introduce yourself!
PS- I have stepped away from the porn industry to seek other employment opportunities, so if possible try to keep the topic of conversation off my past work in the adult film industry. if you want to compliment me that’s one thing but flirting and being groapy will just get ya put in your place.
Being “groapy” [sic] with anyone—porn star or not—without their consent is of course unacceptable, so he’s right to remind people of that. But, it’s disappointing that Brysen appears to not want to acknowledge his past work as a porn star? Or, maybe he just doesn’t want to have conversations in public about his past work while he’s out doing new work, which is understandable.
Let’s just hope that Brysen isn’t going to be one of those former porn stars who’s ashamed of all the great work he did. As pointed out here several times, Brysen has been Sean Cody’s biggest and best star for the last two years, and he should be proud of all his scenes. And as I’ve said before, just seeing Brysen’s smiling face will brighten up anyone’s day:
A quick trip down Brysen memory lane via this clip, featuring his intro scene and then his epic duo with Blake, which was one of the best Sean Cody scenes of all time:
