Year In Review: The Best Moments From The 2017 Str8UpGayPorn Awards

str8winpho-1024x592It’s hard to believe that it’s already been six months since the Str8UpGayPorn Awards in New York City—and it’s even harder to believe that announcements about the next ceremony will be coming in just a few months from now. Once again, thank you to the panel of expert judges, our host Sandra Bernhard, our sponsors Pornhub, Flirt4Free, Fleshjack, and Orbital Pay, everyone who attended the ceremony, performers Detox and Trinity Taylor, all of the nominees and winners, and all of the invaluable presenters who truly made the show such a success. Producing this show was obviously the biggest highlight of 2017 for Str8UpGayPorn (and for me personally), and I’m so grateful to everyone for their support. And, that includes the support from Str8Up’s readers and commenters who’ve been coming here since 2013—thank you guys so much.

This highlight reel of brief clips below features some of the best moments from the show, but don’t forget, you can watch the entire ceremony here. The complete winners list is here. Red carpet photos are here. Red carpet interviews are here. See you again at the Str8UpGayPorn Awards in summer 2018!

Do non-porn stars/non-industry folks get to meet the porn stars? I’ll literally go next year if Helmut goes again…not that I’d have a chance, but yeah…

This is surely the best gay porn award shows ever produced. It looks great and it’s filmed beautifully! Congrats guys!

    Looks like a fun time.

Watching online and posting to everyone was a blast! It really was a lot of fun. I just hope they can get the music cues under control for next time. If so, it’ll be a hoot.

With the exception of Blake Mitchell, the Belami boys in their tuxes put everyone else to shame! Formal wear is sexy to begin with, especially when you see it on hot guys you’re used to seeing naked!

I think the next awards show should have a dress-code: black tie or evening dress.

  • WhimsyCotton

Ooh child, maybe you can get on George’s good graces and get him to send you Joel Birkin, Peter Annaud, and Nino Valens as Belami representatives next year (with Gino Mosca as their handler)!

When watching live the music continued long after the winner was onstage and doing their speech (almost as if they didn’t know it was still playing…or maybe they couldn’t hear it).

    • Zachary Sire

That was a glitch on the live internet stream audio only, and wasn’t happening live in the room. Not sure why, but the music was being fed separately into the live feed stream, and it wasn’t switched off at the same time as they switched off the music in the room. As you can see in the recorded broadcast of the show, the music was always cut as soon as winners reached the podium to give speeches.

      • Zealot

I think someone did point that out, but it’s good to know what happened and that (hopefully) for those of us who watch online we can hear more of what the winners have to say. I’ll definitely check out the recorded version as you suggest. Thanks Zach!

Congrats on a successful night! Sandy B is LIFE and Diesel Washington made me LOL for real with his mugshot joke! OMG!

  • TheLisp

oh, and Austin Wilde looked DELICIOUS in his suit!

It was very well put together, with few exceptions (the presence of Colby keller). I can only imagine the stress involved at pulling something like this off
