The Gay Porn Industry Is Now Hiring Models With Ankle Monitoring Bracelets
Gay porn studios regularly hire convicted murderers, alleged pedophile wife beaters, thieves, and drug addicts, so why not add one more criminal to the mix?
Gay porn star Shawn Reeve has not responded to inquiries as to why he was wearing an ankle monitoring bracelet during filming of his new Bromo scene—released today—but he did send the below image to Str8UpGayPorn, indicating that the bracelet has since been removed. In other words, he’s no longer under house arrest or on parole.
While Reeve was clearly being monitored by police or a parole officer for something during production of his Bromo scene and, as MenOfPorn noted, another scene for Cocksure Men, he hopefully had permission from authorities to travel and work on these sets. Otherwise, he—not to mention the studios that filmed him—could be in big trouble.
Perhaps more interesting than whatever Reeve’s crime was is the fact that this is where we’re at in the gay porn industry.
Reeve could’ve been replaced by a model who wasn’t wearing an ankle monitoring bracelet and on parole, but for today’s gay porn studio, making a few phone calls to agents and doing some extra paper work is apparently too much to ask. The ankle monitoring bracelet could’ve been Photoshopped out of the pics—or, these pics clearly showing the bracelet could’ve just not been released—but that is simply too arduous of a task for today’s gay porn studio. If studios don’t care about what they produce and who they hire, how can they expect consumers to care (i.e., pay for it)?
People who’ve committed crimes and paid their debts have a right to work just as much as anyone else, but maybe the gay porn industry could at least wait until they’re actually done serving out their sentences?
