It’s unclear what the defense’s strategy is going to be, but here’s one angle they might consider pursuing (even though it probably won’t help). In FBI interviews submitted as evidence, Donald Burns has claimed over and over again that he was worried about damage to his reputation, if Jarec Wentworth had gone public with his information. Is this typical behavior for someone who claims his reputation was “his most valued asset”? It doesn’t excuse the alleged crime, but what, if anything, might Donald Burns really be hiding?
