Year In Review: The Worst People And Worst Gay Porn Scenes Of 2016
Who were the worst people, worst gay porn scenes, worst gay porn studios, and biggest gay porn flops of 2016? It’s time to find out!
An annual tradition (2013, 2014, 2015) since Str8UpGayPorn’s launch, this list of the worst in gay porn is presented in no particular order. If positive and “uplifting” gay porn is more your speed, check out the 10 best gay porn scenes of 2016 here. But now, here is everything that made gay porn horrible in 2016:
Worst Duckface Of 2016: Michael Lucas
Michael Lucas used to be horrible enough to receive his very own “worst” posts all to himself. But in 2016, he was something even worse than being the worst: He was irrelevant. Everyone knows that Michael Lucas is awful, so there’s no point in repeating the same facts. Instead, a brief recap of the few times Duckface made news (i.e., fucked someone over, endangered someone’s life, was sued in federal court) in 2016: He used an anonymous blogger to publish private and defamatory information about a model who refused to work for him. He wrote a bigoted “opinion” piece for the worthless idiots at Out and the white nationalists at Breitbart. He produced movies on mattresses in swamps. He settled a half million dollar federal lawsuit filed against him for allegedly smearing feces and urine and drugs all over a California mansion, as seen in the above gif from an epic animated video re-creation. Finally, yet another round of models spoke out about the deplorable and dangerous conditions that performers face when working for Michael Lucas and his studio. And that New York-based studio, Lucas Entertainment, has been filming all of its content outside of the United States for most of 2016, for obvious reasons.
As noted previously, the only people who are worse than Michael Lucas are the people who do know how dangerous he is, but choose to say nothing and continue to support his horrific work. This includes industry “news” sites, affiliate bloggers, VOD companies, bought-and-paid-for “awards” shows, models/directors/crew members who work for him, and “fans” who pay to watch Lucas movies—not that there are very many of them.
Worst Racist Of 2016: Cameron Diggs
His Nazi-era Iron Cross and SS Bolt tattoos raised questions from eagle-eyed commenters weeks before Str8UpGayPorn even posted about Cameron Diggs, but after that, things only got worse. Diggs confirmed his racism by telling Str8UpGayPorn that he believes “we are supposed to continue our race,” and that he “prefers to stay inside my race.” Some of Diggs’ scenes were pulled from studio websites or were quietly released without promotion, but his gay porn presence is emblematic of the industry’s overall habit of hiring models with a “preference,” which many of them proudly admit. Cameron Diggs, of course, isn’t the only racist model in gay porn, and until studios learn that people like this should not be hired, those studios can and should be considered racists, too. Maybe these studios will change their hiring practices if they suffer financially, since that’s the only thing most of them care about anyway.
Worst Gay Porn Retiree Of 2016 Who Didn’t Actually Retire: Nica Noelle
Last May, rape apologist Nica Noelle said she was leaving her job as a gay porn director for Icon Male solely because of Str8UpGayPorn (not because, you know, nearly a dozen models have spoken out about her abusive behavior), which was a badge of honor I tried to wear proudly. Unfortunately, Nutjob Nica didn’t actually retire from gay porn, as she wrote on her own blog in October that she “just got approval” for a new project at Icon Male. On the bright side, she did delete her social media accounts and isn’t fighting publicly with models anymore. But, I’m sure she has at least one anonymous account she uses to harass and stalk people, so keep an eye out for any stray rodent feces on Twitter.
Worst Con Artist Of 2016: Vadim Black
Gay porn’s most prolific con artist who “hates fags” had a relatively quiet second half of 2016, but he did close things out by getting fucked bareback through a doggy door. Before that, he attempted to scam clueless and delusional fans out of over $40,000 by launching the 100% fake “Vadim Black Project,” first on GoFundMe for $11,000 and then on IndieGogo for $30,000. When that thankfully failed (if my memory is correct, it raised $75), Vadim and his girlfriend Katelin Valliere—who appeared with him on MTV—tried to run a fraudulent PayPal and Snapchat scam, promising fans videos in exchange for cash. Some of those fans left comments here, sent emails, and posted on other blogs that none of the videos they paid for were ever received, of course. In June, Vadim Black was pulled from a NakedSword/RagingHotFalcon shoot and barred from ever working for the studio again, but he still has an unknown number of unreleased scenes with other studios that we can make fun of in 2017, at least.

Worst “Studio” Of 2016: Leaked And Loaded
Billy Santoro’s “Leaked And Loaded” paysite isn’t just a paysite with bad and unwatchable 30-second videos (which, spoiler alert, you can watch for free on Tumblr and Twitter), it is also a paysite that has had to remove videos after multiple complaints from people in those videos, who said they did not agree to be on a Billy Santoro paysite. Those people include gay porn stars like David Benjamin (who, along with other unwilling performers, Billy Santoro threatens in the above video) and mystery “soap opera stars” barebacking Billy Santoro’s husband. Billy Santoro has announced that he pays gay porn stars $50 to publish their bareback iPhone videos on his site, which is actually less than what most gay porn stars can make from their fake GoFundMes.
Worst Gay Porn Scene Of 2016: Sean Cody’s “Winter Getaway” Finale
Sean Cody’s “Winter Getaway” finale from January was not a great way to start the year, and while there were many excellent scenes from them, 2016 was just not a good year for Sean Cody. A lot of studios have been caught filming fake fucking (not to mention filming fake cum shots), but seeing an iconic studio like Sean Cody try to get away with it was just depressing. Which is worse: That the director/crew obviously instructed or allowed Robbie to fake fuck his co-star, or that Sean Cody editors left the footage clearly visible in the final cut? Sad.
Second Worst Gay Porn Scene Of 2016: Men.com’s “Hollywood Story”
Even without the now infamous turtleneck sweater disaster, this mess still would’ve been one of the worst gay porn scenes of 2016. A nonsensical plot, bizarre facial expressions, Photoshop madness, and crazy manboob realness all added up to not just the worst, but also the weirdest gay porn scene of 2016. Men.com is known for literally releasing anything, but even this reached a new low for them. JJ Knight probably had the best coping mechanism: Just close your eyes and hope to God it’s over soon.
This long, disturbing, and meth-fueled backstage meltdown from disgraced racist gay porn star Killian James was a lowlight (or highlight, depending on your sick taste) of 2016. But, at least it was entertaining, in a train wreck kind of way.
Worst Re-Offender Of 2016: Sebastian Young
While Sebastian Young’s alleged crimes (he’s currently in jail and faces trial next year for raping his 5-year-old daughter, child porn possession, and threatening to murder the detective who was investigating him) put him in an entirely different category than everyone else on this list, his being added here serves as a reminder of the kind of men the porn industry enables (unknowingly or not) by re-hiring repeatedly—arrest after arrest, conviction after conviction. Every single studio who chose to hire him knew about Sebastian Young’s well-documented and well-publicized criminal history. Since 2008, he’s been to prison after being convicted of beating a senior citizen, he’s been arrested for domestic violence, and he’s been arrested over a dozen times for DUI, drugs, burglary, property damage, and assault. And yet, while he had trouble staying out of jail, the one thing Sebastian Young never had trouble with was being hired to work in porn over and over again, with some of his scenes even being released and promoted while he was in jail or on trial. Now, he’s back in jail again, this time for raping his own daughter.
Sebastian Young is the only one to blame for all of his crimes, as bad people will do bad things regardless of where they work or how they make their money. But, even before allegedly raping his own daughter and threatening to murder a public official—and knowing about all of Young’s previous crimes, convictions, and arrests—gay porn studios knew who they were paying to be one of the faces of their industry. Why? Were there no other models available? The convicted felon accused of beating his wife was the best they could find?
Let’s hope that gay porn studios can find some non-violent, non-convicted felons willing to do gay porn in 2017. Maybe even hire more models of color? Oh, that’s probably asking too much. I wouldn’t want to interfere with anyone’s “preferences.”
